Ringing In The New Year With Amazing Animal Facts

Well the New Year is upon us, and instead of bogging people down with horrific stories of animal cruelty, I think it is time to educate the masses about some "Amazing Animal Facts" PETA wants you to know. These facts are supposed to remind you of how every animal resembles a human, and thus, they deserve to be treated as such...so without further adieu....

"Alaskan buffalo have been observed charging down hills and sliding across icy ponds, bellowing with delight, and then climbing back up the hill to do it again." So here we have the buffalo, an animal that has been fighting for it's very survival for many years, and is slowly but surely gaining in numbers again. An animal that has been hunted and put to the brink of extinction by man, but was given a second chance to survive by man (we still haven't received a Thank-You by the way) and what do they decide to do? These heavy animals decided to rumble their big asses up hills and throw themselves down. And not only just down hills, but onto icy ponds. Now, this may just be wild speculation on my part, but aren't the odds pretty good that one of these buffalo will go down a hill just a bit too high, land on the ice just a bit too hard on a warm day, and procede to fall under the ice and drown. The buffalo do remind me of humans... specifically the retarded humans who also "bellow with delight" after they hurl themselves off hills onto icy lakes. The only difference is that we give these people medals and call it the Specail Olympics.

"Opossums, who are marsupials, are great at insect control; a neighborhood with opossums is less buggy than one without." Do you know what else is good for pest control? Raid and those crazy buy frying lights.

"Parrots cannot bear to be alone; While most mate for life, all live in large social groups, sometimes with multiple species of birds" Thank you PETA...you have know compared the Parrot to the annoying, clingy person everyone knows. Since we can't keep those people in cages and feed them crackers, we have to look at the next best thing.....they just seemed to fit the mold and you have reasssured us that we have made the right decision of which bird to imprison.

"Wood roaches are monogamous, raise one group of children, and live in one log for their entire life." Too bad they're wood roaches.

"Giant South African bullfrogs are devoted fathers who have attacked lions and elephants while defending tadpoles." Coincidentally, they also accumulate the most fatalities of any species of frog in the known world.

"The puma holds the distinctive record of having more English names than any other mammal: 40, including “Florida panther” and “mountain lion.” In other news, PETA has just received the Nobel Prize for worst....piece...of...trivia...ever.
